Judy News

Published: 28th November 2018

Judy,  the little engine that spent her life shunting china clay wagons around Par Harbour, is out of service to allow the required out-of-frames inspection of her boiler.  This has been lifted out, all fittings and tubes removed  and cleaned of scale to allow inspection by the boiler surveyor  to determine what, if any, work is required before reassembly.  It doesn't seem ten years since Judy was returned to working order in 2008 with the help of a Heritage Lottery Fund grant.  Since then the loco has visted many railways in England and has covered far more miles on motorways than on rails! Her last visit was to the East Lancashire Railway where she was posed beside  Flying Scotsman.

December Update - Judy's boiler  requires some minor repairs to the front tube plate. These are already in hand.

February Update -  the repairs to the tubplate have been completed and we await the visit of the NDT inspector.
