Check out Seth Lakeman's new album "Word Of Mouth" due to be released on 3 February 2014. The West Country folk singer and song writer features real life protagonists in his ballads of everyday people. The track "The Last Rider" is about a long serving railway worker, and is in fact based upon Seth's conversations with our very own Driver and Traction Inspector Tony Hallworth. Tony started his railway career with British Railways at Wadebridge in 1961, and has been firing and driving steam locomotives ever since. Seth previews his new album in concerts at Exeter Cathedral on Friday 7 February, and Truro Cathedral on Saturday 8 February.
The Image shows Seth on his visit to the B&WR last year in the cab of GWR 0-6-0 Pannier tank engine no. 6435 with Drivers Trevor Knight and Tony Hallworth.
