As this photo depicts, there have been lots of goings on at the railway over the past few weeks. We are pleased to announce that the prairie tank (5552) boiler has now been lifted (to the left of the photo, thanks to macsalvors) and work on this should be underway fairly soon. In the middle of the image you can see a nice newly painted permanent way coach. This vehicle is our 'crib hut, tool van, kitchen, toilet and driving compartment for when we are out in the cold winters days repairing and maintaining the track, this has just been subject to a small overhaul including an external repaint. Thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped on that project. To the right of the photo we see 4247 taking water, some may notice the bottom half of the tower has been repainted by Bruce, who we are led to believe will be continuing the project soon.
Well thats three big projects highlighted in one photo, thanks to Chris Hatton our operations manager.
