Steamers Cafe – open from 10am to 4pm on all train operating days – serves a range of light meals, snacks (including Cornish Pasties of course!), sandwiches, ice cream, cream teas, cakes and sweets, together with tea, coffee and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks.
The award-winning Signal Box Café, located in the former signalbox adjacent to the main station building is operated by the BWR. It is open 363 days a year and serves a variety of snacks, sandwiches, cream teas, cakes and sweets, together with tea, coffee and a selection of non-alcoholic drinks, and a limited range of souvenirs. The home made cakes in particular are heartily recommended!
In 2012 the Signalbox Café was awarded the ‘Best Station/On Train Retail Outlet’ in the National Community Rail Awards. The Awards – which “celebrate outstanding achievement in Community Rail Development” – are organised by the Association of Community Rail Partnership (ACoRP). The ‘Best Station/On Train Outlet’ award recognises establishments that provide outstanding products and service on or near a railway station.
There are no catering facilities at these two stations, although both offer a pleasant spot for a picnic.
The majority of our trains have a Buffet Car in the formation, serving hot and cold drinks, snacks, sweets and light refreshments. The bar stocks a variety of bottled real ales, cider and lager, together with wine and a selection of spirits.
Our catering team offer a choice of excellent menus for birthday parties (children and adults), private celebrations, weddings and other functions, both on the train and at Bodmin General station. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
